7 spices to increase Brain Power.

Spices...Ahhh..... chilli......I need water!! Many of us have the same reaction when we talk about spices. Food is incomplete without spices and in India. People put loads of spices to make it more delicious and mouth watering. You feel water in your mouth before having indian cuisine and yes after too.

These spices not only add flavor to the cuisine but also have medicinal values. They help prevent and cure various diseases and also increase brain power. Yes I am talking about brain power, ability to think fast, absorb fast and remember long. Lets check out spices which help you increase your brain power.

Turmeric

It has a compound named curcumin. This works as an anti-depressant. It helps reduce plague in brain which are linked to Alzheimer disease because of its antioxidant properties.

Black pepper

It contains Pungent Compound also known as piperine which stimulate beta-endorphins in the brain and boost cognitive function. It can help prevent Parkinson disease by inhibiting enzyme that degrades dopamine.

Cinnamon(Dalchini)

It contains compounds which can remove Alzheimer disease. Compounds cinnamaldehyde and epicatechin present in clove inhibit aggregation of tau protein which play key role in stabilizing micro-tubules. When they become nonfunctional they cause Alzheimer disease

Clove(laung)

Because of anti-oxidants present in this aromatic spice it works as stress reliever and mental stimulant.
Clove oils can also be used in aromatherapy to make you more attentive and energetic.

Nutmeg(jayfal)

Compound call myristicin present in nutmeg helps in boosting brain activity and improves memory. Nutmeg oil improves mental clarity and relieve stress. The spice should be used in moderation else might lead to nausea , vomiting etc.

Holy Basil(tulsi)

This is an extremely powerful herb because of its medicinal properties. Methanol present in basil can be useful in reducing brain damage due to cerebral circulation.

Oregano

It is highly effective in neutralizing free radicals because of presence of anti-oxidants in good concentration. Compounds present in this herb  inhibit the degradation of mono-amine neurotransmitters which help in modulating your mood. They also help in controlling anxiety and improve learning and concentration.
